Aligning with the 2030 Vision
Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 is a comprehensive and ambitious plan that seeks to position the emirate as a leading global player in various sectors and industries. In terms of opportunity, the nature, timetable and scale of the rulers’ desired economic diversification away from oil and gas comes at a time of record surplus savings, ongoing elevated national revenues and sovereign debt issuance receipts, following the nation’s entry into the local government bond market.
The key objectives of the 2030 Vision include
1. Diversifying the economy
Reduce dependence on oil and gas as a source of income and build a diversified and sustainable economy based on knowledge, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
2. Achieving food security
Develop a comprehensive national system based on enabling sustainable local food production with the use of modern technologies, develop international partnerships to diversify food import sources and thereby entrench a reliable and secure farm to table capability.
3. Enhancing competitiveness
Position Abu Dhabi as a competitive and attractive business and investment destination, both locally and globally.
4. Improving the standard of living
Provide citizens and residents with a high standard of living, including access to quality education, healthcare, and housing.
5. Promoting social and cultural cohesion
Strengthen the bonds of unity and social cohesion among the people of Abu Dhabi, while also preserving the emirate's cultural heritage.
6. Protecting the environment
Promote sustainable development and protect the natural environment, including the country's desert, coastal ecosystems and marine life.
7. Developing human capital
Build a knowledge-based society by developing the skills, competencies, and creativity of the population.
8. Improving governance and public services
Enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of government services and improve the overall governance of the emirate.
